A Doozy of a Week
Hello everyone!!! I am grateful it's pday today... this week was a doozy 😴
Let's start with Tuesday. Transfer day.
Transfer day is always crazy, but the past couple transfer days have been straight up insane. We've gotten sixty new missionaries in the past month 😮 so that makes for lots of shuffling around every three weeks. This time, my trio got split up. Sad day! But Sister Crystal went down to Bountiful YSA!! I'm happy for her! that stake has a special place in my heart ♡ now it's just me and Sister Loudin in Layton Hills again!
... well that only lasted like twenty minutes hahaha. One sister's companion was supposed to get here in the afternoon, but her flight got delayed so she wasn't getting into SLC until almost nine o'clock on Tuesday. Sooooo we got put right back into a trio again! Hahaha Sister Paul needed a companion for the afternoon so she came and hung out with us. We drove to the mission office that night to pick up her new comp and President called us saying he couldn't find her ANYWHERE at the airport. Turns out she was still at home in New Jersey 😮 she missed her flight!!! They made plans for her to fly out the next morning. So we unexpectedly had a sleepover together haha! The next morning, a couple hours before we were supposed to go to the mission office to pick her up, we got another call saying.... guess what..... she missed her flight AGAIN. So we had another day as a trio, covering two stakes and also trying to fulfill our calling. That made for lots of meetings, and at one point we were quadruple-booked at 7 PM 😅 we made it through somehow though hahaha. Sister Paul spent the night with us AGAIN and then finally on Thursday afternoon we got to pick up her new companion!! It was all very unexpected, but also fun to be back in a trio haha!
We are back to normal now though, I think everything is settled... for the next two weeks at least!
We did have a miracle a couple weeks ago! There's a cute 11 year old girl we are teaching named Amber. She comes from a completely active family, but for some reason she hasn't wanted to get baptized. The family has tried everything they can think of to figure out WHY, but without much luck. We do Come Follow Me with them every week and have formed a really good relationship with Amber and her parents. I just love them!! We fasted and prayed with Amber's mom that her heart would be softened as we read Mosiah 18 in CFM. That week, Amber actively participated in our discussion (about baptism!!!!), she sat right in front of the camera and even said the opening prayer! That had never happened! Usually she is very shy and quiet, and shuts down as soon as you mention baptism. It was such a miracle!!! This week, Amber's mom told us that Amber has been talking about how much she wants to be with her family forever ♡ i want that for them too!!!! Sister Loudin and I both feel very strongly that Amber is so close!! Please pray that her heart continues to soften.
Faith in God includes faith in His timing. I have learned that His timing is perfect (so usually different from mine...) He is aware of each of us, and will bless us. Sometimes He wants to teach us patience along the way though, too! I am grateful for His love and His eternal perspective!
I love you all! Have a wonderful week!!
Love, Sister Keeler
