Getting out of the House
Hellooooo family and friends!
Hope you all are staying safe (and sane) during all this craziness. I'm def staying safe, but idk about the other one haha.
This week was good. We got to get out of the house on Tuesday because a little girl that we are teaching invited us over to her driveway (lol). Their neighborhood had a drive by parade for all the graduates, so we stood out on their driveway to wave and cheer and congratulate the seniors. Amber had a big bag of salt water taffy for us to throw to the graduates. When they drove by, we tried our best to throw the candy to them, but it was hard to make it through an open car window, or a mini van sun roof hahaha so we ended up mostly pelting the cars (and people) with salt water taffy. They were more terrified than grateful for the candy. I was dying hahaha it was super fun to get out and be with people!!!!! And we had some much needed laughs.
We had transfers! A three day transfer. So that took up a lot of the week, driving sisters around and picking up our new comp! That's right, Sister Loudin and I got put in a trio! We met Sister Crystal on Friday morning! She is from Parker, Colorado and went to BYU before her mission! She's super sweet and we all get along great! This time, she's not fresh from the MTC! She was reassigned to our mission. For 7 months she served in Argentina, but then when everything with covid happened, she got sent home for two months and then reassigned here! She is excited to serve, and I am happy she gets to do it in Layton. I have already felt the fresh missionaries put some fire back in me and the whole ULM!
Remember Nique? My friend who got baptized a month ago? Well I just want to brag about her because I'm so proud :') she reads the Book of Mormon EVERYDAY - morning AND night!!! During our lesson this week, she told us about how much happier she feels when she reads and how the Spirit has helped her make right choices! Ahhhhh. As I looked at her, I noticed that her whole countenance has changed. She talks about how she feels like a new person, but she even looks like one too. The Book of Mormon teaches us that we can be "born of God, changed from [our] carnal and fallen state, to a state of righteousness, being redeemed of God, becoming his sons and daughters; And thus [we] become new creatures" (Mosiah 27:25-26) I have a strong testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ can literally transform us. No matter who we are or what we've done, we can become new in God's eyes when we repent. I have seen Jesus Christ change people and I have felt Him change me as well. His power is real!!
I love being able to see that change! It's hands down my favorite part if being a missionary. It makes all the hard days worth it.
Well I love you all! Stay safe and have a lovely week!!
Love, Sister Keeler
