Emotional Rollercoaster
hello!!!
this week has been an emotional rollercoaster. ah man. quarantine is messing with my brain lol. I go from being so pumped about being a missionary to wanting to sleep for a whole day really quick, but it's all good. I am so happy to be here still, i don't want to take it for granted anymore. It's a really sacred priviledge to represent my Savior.
we did lots more teaching this week! our mission wide goal is still to teach ten lessons everyday. It's been a lot to set those up and teach all day and deal with our other responsabilities, so we are hoping to get some help from our wards in finding our lessons! we are starting that up this week, so it will be lots better! It's been fun to uplift the small part of Layton I have stewardship over 😊
Saturday was a pretty intense day and I was just drained by it. I felt a big weird mix of emotions and I fell asleep on my knees that night as I was pouring out my heart to God. I was really worried for my fellow sisters, the people I am teaching in my area, and to know that I am doing enough. It was a really jumbled, not very eloquent prayer, but I felt a calm assurance that I was heard and it would all work out.
well, like He always does, God answered my prayer. We got a referral from the assistants for a girl who wanted to be taught! we called her over zoom yesterday and got to know her a bit. she is this cute girl named Dominique. she grew up in UT, met with missionaries in HS, but never was able to get baptized because of her family. she moved away to Idaho and said that she still felt drawn to the church. the only thing that helped her overcome the trials in her life was to attend church. she was going to get baptized in Idaho, but then some things happened that made her move back to UT about a week ago. she has some awesome friends who have been super supportive of her and have helped her read the Book of Mormon and take the Sacrament. in our meeting, we read part of 3 Nephi 11 and invited her to be baptized on May 2nd and she accepted!!! AHHH!!! It was such a miracle. I am so grateful for Dominique. I know that the experiences she went through in the past have prepared her for now. she is humble and ready to follow Jesus Christ. I am excited for her to take His name upon her and experience the blessings that come from that!
I am also grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who works with His imperfect children to fulfill His purposes. I am a far from perfect missionary, but He still lets me see miracles in this area. I know he leads this work! and I sure am thankful He does.
God lives and loves us! I am a witness of that.
love you all,
