The Dynamic Trio

hello friends!

oh boy, i am not in Bountiful YSA anymore hahaha. lots and lots of things are different here in the Layton Hills stake but it is so wonderful. I am covering all nine wards in the stake. Sister Reid goes home at the end of the transfer so I have six weeks to memorize the names of Bishops, ward mission leaders, RS pres, EQ pres, ward boundaries and all people we're teaching for nine different wards. I'll get it down eventually haha. But this place is awesome. the field is white and there is so much potential. I am pumped for all the miracles we are going to see this transfer.

Layton is very different from Bountiful. most of our contacting is done in trailer parks and apartments. also we live right next to Hill Air Force base so lot's of people are living in Utah because of that. I have already met so many wonderful people!!! Also lots of very interesting characters and we're only on day five haha. I am having lots of fun. we do a ton of teaching!! which is my FAVORITE part of missionary work! the previous sisters were working with some super awesome people before Hermana Gutierrez and I got here, so I am excited to continue watching their progression along the covenant path.

I'm in a trio this transfer. my comps are Sister Reid (from Georgia) and Hermana Gutierrez (from Central California). it's Sister Reid's last transfer so we are going to work super hard and help her go out with a bang haha. Hermana Gutierrez was initially called to be a Spanish speaking missionary, but got switched over to be in the English program last transfer. the three of us are pretty different, but that helps us relate to so many different people. we have gotten along really well already, so i am excited for these next five weeks! someone called us the dynamic trio the other day, so that's our new nickname ;)

yesterday was my first time going to a family ward in about a year. YSA is SILENT because they're all adults, and I got so used to that! well the first Sacrament meeting we went to was FULL OF BABIES. it was so strange to have other noises around me hahaha. but i wasn't even mad! it's the sound of eternal families lol

yesterday's testimony meeting in one of our wards was all about the Restoration. our unique message to the world! i have been reflecting on the First Vision, and the events that followed, like President Nelson asked us to do in preparation for General Conference and have gained a stronger testimony of that event. the real significance is not that a fourteen year old boy went into the forest to pray. it's that the answer to that prayer shattered the current beliefs that many people had and ushered in the Restoration of Christ's church. Joseph lived during a time when truths about God's character were lost. people viewed God as unapproachable and without form or feelings. God's appearance with His Son showed the world that they have two separate bodies of flesh and blood, they know us by name, and they WILL answer our prayers. Not only do we know that Jesus lived and spoke, but because of the first vision, we know He LIVES AND SPEAKS. What a glorious truth!! I'm so grateful for that knowledge 😊

I'm looking forward to more adventures in Layton!!

love you all!!!!
