Moral of the Story... God is Good

hellooooo friends! wow. it's been a crazy week. lot's of changes since this corona virus outbreak. people have been asking how it's affecting missionary work so here's the update... in my mission everything is pretty much the same except no handshaking/hugging, no tracting and members don't have to feed us/let us in their home if they feel it would be a health danger. if any missionary feels sick, we have to call the mission nurse and report our symptoms and not go out to work. everyone that is healthy is still able to leave the apartment and teach, which I am grateful for! handsanitizer is our bff rn though haha

today at the grocery store it felt a little bit like an apocalypse movie haha. empty shelves and a lady over the loud speaker angrily saying, "ONLY 2 BOXES OF CEREAL PER FAMILY. ONLY 1 CARTON OF EGGS PER FAMILY..." with all the chaos going on, I am grateful that God has sent us a prophet to guide us in these times. I know President Nelson is the Lord's servant here today. I have gained a stronger testimony of the reality of his call this week! I am certain that the transition to a more home centered, Gospel study was not a coincidence, but divine inspiration that is such a benefit to us now that Sunday meetings are cancelled!
during this time when "men's hearts [are] failing them for fear," (Luke 21:26) we have a heart surgeon to lead us. I am grateful for President Nelson and I sustain him!

despite all the corona virus craziness, we got lots of work done! 2 1/2 exchanges, 2 zone conferences, Hermana Gutierrez's birthday and lots of finding and teaching! my favorite lesson was with the Stevens, Rosemary and her sons, Josh and Joel. they are from Pakistan and moved here fairly recently. when they first got here, they wanted to join a church so they just showed up at the nearest one, which happened to be ours!! the ward welcomed them with open arms so they attended a couple times. well, I am not sure if the ward realized they weren't members or not because they never told us anything!! but they are golden! .... flashback to my first day in the area, my comps and I prayed that someone would be placed in our path to share the Gospel with. we went to make a contact and as we were walking away from the apartment, we crossed paths with Josh as he was outside walking to his car. we quickly brought up the Book of Mormon, gave him a copy and planned to come back a couple days later. well he wasn't there for the return appointment a couple weeks ago :( buttttttt we went by again yesterday and they invited us right in! we got to teach the Restoration. the Spirit was soooo strong as we bore testimony of that sacred event. Rosemary (the mom) told her sons, "these girls have been sent here from God and they are here to teach us truth. you both better listen." haha! I felt the overwhelming feeling that the Gospel will bless their family so much. as they continue to learn more, and come to know for themselves, they will have the opportunity to be sealed as a family for eternity. I am very hopeful for them and grateful that God placed their family in my path (very literally!!)

moral of the story... God is good!!! there are so many ways he blesses us every. single. day. we need to look for His hand and HEAR HIM!! as we do so, our faith will overcome our fear!

love you all!!
