Random good things
solid week. here are some random, good things that happened.
- we had zone conference this week! which I always love. I love being uplifted and inspired to go out and do God's work!! being surrounded by other missionaries always fills me with that Spirit. I have a renewed desire to be exactly obedient so I can qualify for the gift of the Spirit. without the Holy Ghost it would be impossible to succeed as a missionary. so I am grateful for Him!
- i had dinner with a high councilor in my stake, who also happens to be my second cousin :0 haha we went on a field trip to visit the house our relative built. it also happens to be one of the very first houses ever built in Farmington! small world!!
- this week I was reminded that everyone has the light of Christ inside them. it is an innate characteristic of children of God. I met a sweet lady named Mary and she lit up as she talked about her faith in Jesus Christ. it was so cool to see how He has changed her. our job as missionaries isn't to prove other religions wrong, it's to add to the truth people already have and expand their view of our purpose and potential. I am excited to introduce the Book of Mormon to her and provide a second witness of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
- I had to explain groundhog day to Sister Bravo this week. also the superbowl! she thinks Americans are weird haha
- my sweet, sweet Chaehyun had to go back to Korea on Saturday :( that was sad, but she requested missionaries in her home town!! woooo! I am excited for her to continue learning. also being taught by missionaries who actually speak her language will help haha! on her last night we had dinner together! sister bravo and i got there a couple minutes early so we waited outside the restaurant for her. while we were standing there, I saw a tall man with white hair walk out of the restaurant. immediately i knew who it was... he opened the car door for his wife and turned around and i was right!! It was Elder Uchtdorf!!!!! he walked right up to us and said, "Sisterssssssss, how are you???" In his nice German accent. he shook our hands and asked where we were from. when I said temecula he said, "Ahhhhhhh I know exactly where that is" hahahaha then he whipped out a FAT stack of cash, handed us twenty bucks and drove off. oh my goodness i was so starstruck lol. the perks of serving in Utah i guess!
as we were waiting for Chaehyun another man came out of the building and said, "sisters, quick come inside! do you have a Book of Mormon?" we went in and introduced the Book of Mormon to two of his friends and gave them both copies. they moved from India for work and just got done touring the Conference center in Salt Lake. They heard a lot about the Book of Mormon so they were interested in reading it. it was so cool we were in the right place, at the right time!! also this man is a singer in the tabernacle choir so that was cool too!
- yesterday was fast and testimony meeting. I love having the opportunity to learn from other peoples' testimonies and to think about what I know to be true, even if I don't share it from the pulpit. It's a great reminder each month to thank Heavenly Father for the knowledge He has given us. we express our gratitude by sharing it!
so here is me thanking Heavenly Father!
I know God loves me and I love Him too! I know Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world! I know His church has been restored to the Earth! I know we have a Prophet and Apostles on the Earth today! I know the Book of Mormon is true!
love you all! have a fabulous week!!
love, sister keeler
