Walking each other back home

Hellooooo!!

The past week few weeks have been really hard. I feel like I have a lot on my plate and it's a bit overwhelming! I wish the work was moving faster and that our people we've found would progress!!!! But it's all in God's timing not mine, thankfully, because He knows much more than I do. For now I will keep working hard and being patient. Despite the hard times, life is good! Here are a few things that happened this week that made me smile 😊

WE HAD ANOTHER LESSON WITH FRANKLIN!! AHHHHH! He's our Brazilian friend who was amazed by the message of the Restoration! Well, he was even more excited to hear the Plan of Salvation. We introduced it by asking, "Have you ever wondered where you came from, why you're here, and where you're going?" He said, "YES! I've been wanting to ask that since we first met!" hahaha! Well he just soaked it all up! Throughout the whole lesson he took notes and asked questions that perfectly led to the next point. Sometimes I feel like I'm back at the MTC and he is actually a life long member pretending to be an investigator... his questions and comments move the lesson forward so beautifully!! But nope! He is just the definition of elect! I am grateful that he was put in my path 😊

Yesterday I gave a talk in church and the 2nd counselor who was conducting the meeting said, "Then we will hear from Sister Keeler, and if you don't know who Sister Keeler is then WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? she's been in the ward longer than a lot of you" hahahahaha 9 months here at the end of the transfer. pretty crazy. it almost feels like home now!!! almost, mom don't worry! But I really do love it here. I have made so many friends!!!!

I met a nice Turkish man this week and it was really fun trying to talk with him. In his broken English and our short interaction, I found out that he's been meeting with some missionaries! He's been learning about the Gospel and practicing his English. When i asked him what the missionaries' names were, he couldn't remember so I asked, "Was it Elder..... hmmmmm...." (trying to think of whose area I was in) and he said "YES!! ELDER!! that's his name" HAHAHA it was so sweet. I shared my testimony of the importance of following God and he just stared at me and nodded along. He didn't understand anything I had just said, but he told us he loved us and we went on our way hahaha.

I love everything about being a missionary (somedays more than others haha), but in my opinion the best thing is being able to connect with people I would have never met otherwise. We truly are all brothers and sisters and we knew each other before this life! As I have been able to meet and build relationships with more of God's children, the more I have come to internalize that truth. Here on Earth it's our job to walk each other back home to our Father in Heaven. That is not a job reserved only for full-time missionaries. Elder Bednar said, "Proclaiming the gospel is not a part-time obligation... Rather, missionary work is a manifestation of our spiritual identity and heritage." It's our DUTY as children of God to share what we know, so do it!! I know that you will be blessed for it in this life and in the world to come! Plus you'll make lots of friends along the way, I can promise you that.

I hope you all know that I know this is Christ's church on the Earth. It has been restored in these latter days through a prophet of God. Because of these restored truths we can find purpose in life, strength to press forward and peace to our souls! I am grateful for my Savior and I know He lives and loves us.

With love,

Sister Keeler ❤
