Wowwwwww!

Hello friends!! Lots to update you from this week and last! We had a couple solid lessons that I felt the Spirit so strong during ❤

A couple weeks ago we were literally led to this AMAZING lady named Summer. Her apartment was the only one we knocked on in the whole complex. She seemed really happy to see us and said she has been wanting to learn more about the church. She has had a rough life to say the least and just recently got out of rehab and felt like she should move here to Utah to start over. She already believes that God has blessed her and that we were sent by Him to find her <3 Sadly, she is out of the YSA age range so we had to pass her off to the other set of sisters :'( But not before she accepted a baptismal date for the 26th of this month! She is definitely prepared. We gave her a Book of Mormon and when we came back for the return appointment she had highlighted it like crazy! She said, "this King Benjamin guy is cool!" haha I agree!

Another cool lesson was with a man named Franklin who moved here from Brazil and just showed up to church last week. He said he was interested in learning more so we set up a lesson and taught the Restoration. We invited him to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know of its truthfulness. He asked, "But once I do that, and know it's true, then what??" GOOD QUESTION! We told him that once he knows it is true, he will want to do the things it says in that book, including being baptized. Sister Hughes invited him to follow Christ's example and he said yes!!! He is also working towards being baptized on October 26th :) he doesn't speak much English, so we have to work through a translator, but as we taught the Restoration he kept saying one English word... "Wowwwwwwww!" The Restored Gospel truly is marvelous and wonderful!! I know that he too has been prepared and sent specifically to Utah to hear about the Gospel.

It is absolutely amazing to be a missionary here. Of course there are still hard days. We had a lot of those this week too. It makes me sad to see people basically choose to deny themselves blessings by not living the commandments. Agency is the greatest gift, but it also is frustrating when people don't use it for good! Being a missionary is kinda like herding cats... I can only do so much. I can invite and encourage the people I'm teaching to choose to do the right, but I can't force them. I am definitely learning patience!

I love Mosiah 2:22-- God has promised to bless us as we keep His commandments and He NEVER breaks His promises!! I am grateful to have a Father in Heaven who loves us and always wants to bless us!

LOVE YOU ALL! now go share the good news of the Gospel with your friends!! I'm sure your local missionaries will appreciate the help 😊

With love, Sister Keeler
