Story Time!

Helloooooo!!! Hope you all had a wonderful week! This week was good!! I saw a HUGE miracle this week!! So... story time!!

About two months ago we got a record for a girl named Amey who was taught in the Riverside, CA mission (my home mission!!) and then moved here to UT. The sisters in CA told us she was super sweet and prepared to be baptized, so we were really excited!

Things were crazy as Amey was settling into the area so she didn't have time to meet with us for a couple weeks. Out of the blue, Amey texted us and said she was good with her current religion and appreciated us stopping by, but that we didn't need to worry about her anymore. Sister Whetten and I were way sad but we still felt hopeful! For the past month and a half, we have been texting her scripture verses and stopping by occasionally just to see how she's doing and to let her know we care about her. She never replied or opened the door... I remember one time in particular I felt really strongly that we needed to go visit her. We knocked on the door and no one answered so I was a little confused why I had felt that prompting.

Well this week Amey texted us apologetically and said she would love to come to church and meet us!! Ahh!!

We had a lesson with her yesterday and heard her story. She basically hit rock bottom and turned her life around with God's help in California. When she moved here to Utah, she got out of those good habits she developed while meeting with the missionaries and forgot the things she had learned. But she said she always appreciated the texts we sent and they always came at the right time. She also said she prayed for a sign one day to know what to do and right after she finished her prayer, we knocked on the door!! Amey said she was so shaken up, she couldn't answer the door to talk to us!! She knew that was God answering her telling her to meet with us. How cool is that?? I am so grateful for promptings of the Spirit. They are real!! Follow them!!

I am also grateful for Amey's desire. That's something that we can't instill in people. As missionaries, we invite and help, it's up to the people to come and receive. For some people, like Amey, you have to be patient while they figure that out for themselves.

Amey said that the greatest desire of her heart is to be baptized, so we helped her pick out a date-- August 10th! Wooohoo I am so pumped and I cant wait for her to start fresh and be born again on that day :-)

Transfers are out!! I get to stay in the area and train another new missionary!! Sadly, Sister Whetten is getting sent up north to basically the top of the mission. It's been a wonderful 3 months, I will miss her! But I'm thankful for change. That's what the mission (and life!) is all about!

Love you all!! Have a lovely week 💙

Lots of love, Sister Keeler
