Surprise Baptism

Hello all!

I hope everything is going well for you wherever you are! I have been great here in Bountiful!

The past couple weeks have been great, BUSY but wonderful! This past Saturday we had a surprise baptism! I say surprise because we met Joe on Monday and he was baptized on Saturday. He had been taking lessons from the Elders and then they realized he was YSA aged so they passed him off to us and said he wanted to get baptized on June 1st. So we had to quickly schedule a building, plan the program and organize the whole baptism in a couple days. A little bit stressful haha. But it all worked out!

It is soo wonderful to see how the Gospel changes people. Joe is a wonderful example of that. As soon as he came out of the water, he had the biggest smile on his face. He looked like a whole new person, and when I asked him how he felt, he said he felt like a brand new person! The Gospel is what allows us to change for the better and lead happy lives! I am so grateful for it.

We went on exchanges last weekend and so another sister in the mission, Sister Sanchez, and I were comps for the day. We were out knocking on doors in an apartment complex when we heard some super loud music playing. It sounded fun so we followed it to an apartment across the street. We talked to the owner of the house, who ended up being a very friendly Jehovah's Witness who started trying to convert US in what little English he knew. No luck there for either of us lol, BUT while we were talking to this man, a YSA walked into the apartment next door! We knocked on his door and we taught him the first lesson on his door step. As Sister Sanchez recited the first vision and I testified of the power of prayer the Spirit was SO strong. He looked up at us and said "I know what I need to do, I need to pray!" YES!! It is so cool to see the Spirit teach people. He was able to recognize the need for divine help in his life. Sister Whetten and I are excited to go back and see how we can help him continue to come closer to Christ!

Zone conference was this week, which is always so wonderful!! I was reminded that this work is hastening. Heavenly Father is preparing His children to receive the Gospel and sending them to us/us to them. I am excited to continue to see miracles happen in this area, I am confident that they will come as Sister Whetten and I continue to work hard and have faith!!

I love you all! Don't forget that Heavenly Father is cheering you on today, tomorrow and forever!

With love, Sister Keeler
