The second coming of Sister Keeler
Hello friends!!
Sorry for the lack of an email last week... things got crazy busy. But I am alive and thriving though, so that's what matters!!!
In the couple days before transfers, I had to say bye to all the lovely people of Clinton! It was hard! Especially saying bye to all the people Sister Bravo and I were teaching, but I know they are in good hands. There are other people I am supposed to meet elsewhere!!
On Wednesday I picked up my baby! Sister Whetten, fresh from the MTC! She is from the birthplace of Walmart, Arkansas lol. She is super sweet and pumped to be a missionary. Her testimony is so strong, and she isn't afraid to share it-- which I love!! We are working hard together and hopefully two fresh sets of eyes on the area will help it grow!
It's interesting to be back in the YSA! When I was here last, Sister Musick and I covered all 12 wards in the stake, but now they split the area so we cover six wards and then Sister Musick and her new comp are over the other half. It is much more manageable! Six weeks isn't very long to be away, a lot of people didn't even realize I left! But also in that short time the wards have basically doubled in size with students moving home for the Summer, so there are still lots of new faces and new friends in our teaching pool.
This week has been a lot of figuring out what the heck we're doing and who we're dealing with.... that means a whole lot of knocking on doors that don't open, and showing up to lessons that people forgot about, but then Heavenly Father blesses you with a GOLDEN investigator and you put her on date the first time you meet her! That's what happened to us with Melissa last week. She just moved here from France and her boyfriend is a member and a super great support to her! He has told her a lot about the church so that is what sparked her interest. We have been meeting with her and teaching her more about the Gospel and she is just soaking it up. Each time we meet with her she expresses her love for God and her desire to follow Jesus Christ! She is planning to get baptized on June 15th and we are SO PUMPED for her!! Every time we meet with her I am reminded why I am on a mission-- because the Gospel is what brings true joy in this life and I want all of God's children to experience that happiness.
I love being a missionary!! I love representing Jesus Christ and helping bring God's children to the light of the Gospel. I know that is where true joy is found.
I love you all!!! Have a wonderful week!!!
love, Sister Keeler
