Goodbyes are Hard!
Wednesday, January 23, 2109 - 5am - Terminal 2 San Diego Airport- How do you say good bye to someone for a year and a half? You can't hug them nearly tight enough or long enough or say all the things you have in your heart at that moment or that you've been thinking for the past few weeks as you shopped and packed and prepared because it was too early to say those things and you just wanted to keep it light and easy. So you just give your prolonged squeeze, try really hard not to cry so hard that you make weird noises and hope they can see in your tear filled eyes all the things you want to say but can't. And watch as she walks through security. That was today.
That was Part one, Part two was she landed in SLC and was picked up by Lindsay and Grandma and Grandpa. They had their last supper - actually breakfast at Cubby's and then they dropped her off in the underground parking lot of the MTC. And she's off on her 18 month adventure to bring some light and love to the people in the Layton, Utah mission.
Luckily, we have connections in the MTC (well, Lindsay has a friend) and we received this picture from the teacher of her intro class. It's hard to feel sad when she has such a beautiful, bright smile! She is so ready for this! Now just looking forward to PDay - whenever that is!
